Design: New entries from NY by PepsiCo Design & Innovation and COLLINS – Graphis Blog

We’ve extended the deadline for the Design Annual 2020 competition to April 30th, and new, exciting entries are continuing to come in! PepsiCo Design & Innovation submitted two entries from their LIFEWTR Series: “ LIFEWTR Series 4: Arts in Education ” and “ LIFEWTR Series 5: Art Beyond Borders ” (ABOVE). As they explained to us, “LIFEWTR’s Arts in Education series showcases the works of three emerging artists, Luis Gonzalez, KRIVVY, and David Lee, who demonstrate the far-reaching impact and positive influence that art has had on their lives.” Additionally, “Series 5, ‘Art Beyond Borders,’ celebrated the power of art to create cultural understanding and unity through artists whose work is inspired by multiple cultures.” The water bottles are beautifully designed and represent the company’s important arts initiatives.
From COLLINS design firm we received, “ Mailchimp ” (ABOVE, LEFT) and “ Kernit ” (ABOVE, RIGHT). Mailchimp’s brand identity, designed by Erik Berger Vaage , represents their major growth and could be seen on billboards in New York, San Francisco and the company’s hometown of Atlanta. Kernit, on the other hand, was a typeface created for an exhibition on Jim Henson’s work in puppetry at The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI), along with a coherent visual language, architecture, and design for the exhibition. CCO Brian Collins worked with his Creative Director Thomas Wilder and Design Director Jules Tardy to create a new typeface in two weights that was later available to designers for free at justkernit.com . COLLINS certainly shows their abilities in a range of services and offers quite a bit humor and wit as well.
