Forest Logistics, MSCI to Lead Innovation Forum on MTD TV – Mingtiandi

Following Tuesday’s launch of the Innovation in Asian Real Estate report, Mingtiandi’s Property Innovation Forum is set to continue next week with a pair of events highlighting recent jumps in efficiency sparked by forces including the growth of Asia’s e-commerce sector and the growing role of international capital in local markets.

Coming up on Tuesday, 30 November at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time MTD TV brings you a panel, Tech Adoption in Logistics Real Estate, which features speakers from Forest Logistics Properties, Cushman & Wakefield, Ally Logistic Property and Yardi discussing how forces such as the growth of e-commerce are driving change in Asia’s warehouse world.

Then on Thursday, 2 December at 10:00 AM Hong Kong time, the Property Innovation Forum returns with a spotlight interview titled, Global Capital and the Transformation of Asian Real Estate, as Mingtiandi’s Michael Cole speaks with Varun Malik, head of real estate client coverage for Asia Pacific at MSCI about the evolution of Asia’s real estate industry as it grows in scale and becomes a focal point for international institutions.

These two sessions will bring to a close Mingtiandi’s Property Innovation Forum, which is sponsored by Yardi, and follow our discussion on 23 November of the key findings of our recent survey of tech adoption in Asia’s real estate industry, which you can view here.

Logistics Leads the Way

With e-commerce playing a growing role in Asian economies, logistics developers now find themselves primary business partners for some of the region’s fastest growing companies, with warehouse developers increasingly expected to design their facilities and services to meet the needs of Alibaba, JD.com and other online shopping giants.

Varun Malik of MSCI will appear in the third session in the forum on 2 Dec

To find out more about the transformation of Asia’s real estate industry, Mingtiandi will be welcoming Hank Hsu, co-founder and chief executive of Forest Logistics Properties; Alton Wong, senior director and head of advisory services with the valuation and advisory services division of Cushman & Wakefield Greater China and co-head of the firm’s sustainability services unit; Gene King, international expansion director with Ally Logistic Property and Bernie Devine, regional director with Yardi.

During the one-hour session, the panelists will also look at how the growing need to meet sustainability targets is spurring system adoption, while comparing development in Greater China to Southeast Asia and other locations.

The third and final event in the Property Innovation Forum will provide viewers with a first-hand look into how investors and developers in the region are increasingly able to benchmark the performance of their portfolios with global standards, as Mingtiandi speaks with financial information provider MSCI’s top executive in the region.
