Hitachi Elevator’s 2019 innovation sharing meeting held in Kunming

Theme of the meeting: “Jointly Create New Businesses That Stimulate New Momentum”

KUNMING, China, July 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., Ltd. (Hitachi Elevator) held its 2019 innovation sharing meeting from July 2 to 4. With the theme of “Jointly Create New Businesses That Stimulate New Momentum”, the three-day event was attended by more than 400 guests and partners.

In fiscal year 2018[*1], Hitachi Elevator received orders for over 88,000 units of elevators and escalator, and completed installation of over 74,000 units, with more than 300,000 units are under maintenance service contracts. Operating revenue reached 19.9 billion yuan (approx. US$2.9 billion) for the period. Hitachi Elevator president Jia Yuhui said one of the important reasons behind its continued growth is long-term attention to and support of the growth of the real estate supply chain. In recent years, Hitachi Elevator has maintained a close strategic partnerships with 15 of the 20 leading real estate developers in China, among them, Evergrande, Country Garden, Vanke, Sunac, Poly, Greenland, R&F Group, China Resources and Yango Group.

With the support of 5G, several new information technologies, including cloud computing, big data, the Internet of things and artificial intelligence will be integrated and converged, creating a strong momentum for the continued development of the digital economy. Jia said at the meeting: “The real IoT intelligent elevator will come into existence during the 5G era. We will continue the transformation into digital enterprises and accelerate the interconnection of intelligent building equipment and elevator big data.”

In the past year, Hitachi Elevator has aggressively expanded into the new intelligent building business and entered into collaborative agreements with Huawei, Xiaomi, Alibaba, JD.com and other technology giants. Hitachi’s intelligent building transportation solutions have been successfully applied in Xiaomi Science and Technology Park, Alibaba Future Hotel, JD.com’s headquarters building and other facilities.

Among them, Hitachi Elevator, in cooperation with Tencent, is supplying “pressure-free move” transportation solutions to Shanghai-based Lingang Group’s Hero land project located in China-Israel (Shanghai) Innovation Park in Taopu, a town in the northwest section of Putuo district, Shanghai. By adopting Hitachi’s smart elevator systems into Tencent Welink’s intelligent visualization platform, the solutions extend intelligence from elevators to more application scenarios. At the meeting, special guest Tencent Cloud vice president Wan Chao shared Tencent’s progress in the smart building industry and its cooperation with Hitachi Elevator in intelligent construction.

Mr. Jia emphasized that Hitachi Elevator plans to deepen the transformation into a digital enterprise, strengthen research and development into the interconnection of intelligent building equipment and elevator big data, and work with partners to “Jointly Create New Businesses That Stimulate New Momentum.” Hitachi Elevator hopes to receive orders for over 100,000 units of elevator and escalator in fiscal year 2019[*2].
