HKSTP and HSBC Group Up to Drive Open Banking Innovation in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Science and Innovation Parks Corporation (HKSTP) has teamed up with HSBC today to drive open banking innovation for start-ups and innovation endeavors.

HSBC will be the lead partner in the API EcoBooster (Programme) to coach and co-create API options in the areas of loan services, deals and operation, credit card, digital payments and customer records management for the commercial and retail banking markets.

In addition, the Programme will be supported by beNovelty as innovation partner to offer technical clinics and arrange sandboxes with more than 100 banking APIs and mock data on its API combination platform for innovators to trial their APIs.

At our Data Studio, more than 400 datasets are made readily available from industry partners of 9 categories, and over 1,300 developers have actually registered to co-create applications with the shared data resources. Registration for the Programme is open to developers around the world till 14 August 2020 where 30 proposals will be picked. The designers will show their final propositions to HSBC and the banking industry at the conclusion of the Programme in October.
