Innovation Challenge winners announced!

We are delighted to announce the winners of the Hallmark Care Homes and Savista Innovation Challenge.

The three winners, Lifestyle Leader, Lily Chapman from Ty Enfys Care Home, Regional Care Specialist Louise Inglis and the Savista Design Team were chosen for their exciting ideas, ranging from a unique dementia room design, a new way to enhance customer service and safeguarding.

They were celebrated for their ideas at a virtual ceremony attended by the winners, Chairman of Hallmark Care Homes and CEO of Savista Developments, Avnish Goyal, Managing Director of Hallmark, Ram Goyal and Head of Innovation, Claire Johnsen.

The Innovation Challenge, which was open to all team members at Hallmark Care Homes and Savista Developments was introduced to give employees the opportunity to put forward their innovative ideas and solutions with the aim of improving our care provision across our current and future businesses.

The challenge, which ran from June to July, received 156 entries with the winners receiving £1,000 cash, an Apple iPad Air or an Apple Watch.

Lifestyles Leader at Ty Enfys Care Home, Lily Chapman said: “I was delighted to be a part of the winning team of the Innovation Challenge. Not every idea needs to cost money, there are simple steps we can take to improve the service we deliver to the residents within Hallmark.

“Induction, training and empowering team to deliver quality care is something I am very passionate about and I cannot wait to see the implementation and results. The support we have to dream big and achieve within Hallmark together with the desire to improve the quality of life for the residents within our care is what drives me and it is a pleasure to be a part of the process!”

Regional Care Specialist, Louise Inglis said: “I am very grateful for the opportunity the Innovation Challenge presented. I am extremely delighted to have been successful.  I am really looking forward to being able to take forward my idea as providing relationship-centred care is a fundamental part of Hallmark Care Homes’ Vision.

“I feel very lucky, and proud, to be part of the Hallmark family.”

The first prize winners were the design team at Savista, Hallmark Care Homes’ sister company who put together a creative bedroom idea which would enhance the lives of residents’ living with dementia.

Interior Designer at Savista Developments, Chloe Morgan said: “The Savista design team are ecstatic that we won the Innovation Challenge. We feel really passionately about the design we put forward for a more personalised approach to our dementia bedrooms and to be given an opportunity to implement this within our homes is just fantastic!

“We feel truly lucky to be a part of such an innovative, forward thinking company, which encourages all team members to be creative within their roles and excel to their best possible potential.”

Head of Innovation at Savista Developments, Claire Johnsen said: “Throughout these uncertain times, we have seen team members at both Hallmark and Savista, undertake new ways of working. We’re so excited to be giving team members the opportunity to take their innovative ideas and make them a reality.”

Now the winners have been announced, both Savista and Hallmark Care Homes will work closely with the individuals to implement their ideas in a series of workshops.
