Siemens USA recognized for its innovation and culture | Siemens Stories in the USA | USA

Last year also brought our first-ever appearance on the Disability Equality Index® (DEI), a national benchmarking of businesses to gauge their level of disability workplace inclusion. The index was developed in 2015 by the American Association of People with Disabilities and the disability inclusion nonprofit Disability:IN. It measures areas including culture and leadership; employment practices; community engagement; supplier diversity and accessibility. In our initial appearance on the list, we earned a top score of 100 percent.

In 2020, we received the HIRE Vets Medallion Award from the U.S. Department of Labor for the second consecutive year. Military Times named us a “Best for Vets Employer.”

For the second year in a row, Fast Company named Siemens a Best Workplace for Innovators. Recruiting website Fairygodboss named us one of the Best Companies Where CEOs Support Gender Diversity.

Such recognitions represent our strong belief that building a workforce drawn from all segments of society is both the right thing to do and a core part of our business strategy. Siemens has been recognized by Forbes among the Best Employers for Diversity. The corporate academic alliance Advancing Minorities’ Interest in Engineering (AMIE) has also named us a 2020 Supporter for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). HBCUs are powerhouses in research and STEM talent development, which is why Siemens has committed to expanding our recruiting efforts as well as our technology and research partnerships with these institutions.

It’s our obligation to provide the best workplace we can for that workforce, one that that includes equity for all. As our employees grow and succeed, they are fueling the creativity and innovation our company needs to be healthier, stronger and more sustainable.

As Siemens USA CEO Barbara Humpton shared today, “We’re always proud of these accolades, and that’s especially true during this moment of change and disruption, as we use our technology and expertise to help America recover and work together to build a more equitable society. Behind such recognition is tireless dedication from our team to support the industries that form the backbone of our nation’s economy, so that we emerge from today’s challenges even stronger.”
