Six Finalists Announced for the 2020 Maintenance Innovation Challenge

The Maintenance Innovation Challenge (MIC) is an important venue to present innovative technologies in front of a large cross-section of DOD decision-makers

The MIC aims to elevate and expand the call for maintenance innovation to include not only new technology, hardware, and software but also unique partnerships, resourcing strategies, business practices, or processes that promise to make maintenance more capable, agile, and affordable.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness and the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) is pleased to announce that the Maintenance Innovation Challenge Overall Technology winner will receive an award of $50k for an NCMS managed year-long demonstration project at a government facility.

With 128 submissions, choosing the six finalists was incredibly difficult.

The Six MIC Finalists Are (In Alphabetical Order):

Augmented Reality Remote Maintenance Support Service (ARRMSS)
Submitted by Aristides Staikos, US Navy NAWCAD Lakehurst

How to Pinpoint the Absolute Positioning of Flaws using Portable and Modular NDT

Attending the MIC is a rare opportunity to learn which maintenance and sustainment technologies are top priorities for the DOD, today and tomorrow. Insights into what presentations the DOD judging panel finds engaging can aid in future collaboration proposals.

This is a great opportunity to learn about some of the most innovative maintenance and sustainment technologies available today.

The People’s Choice Award

After listening to the six presentations from the finalists, attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the winner of the People’s Choice Award.

How to attend:
The MIC takes place Monday, Dec. 7 from 1-3 pm EST.
