With the establishment of its Embassy in Nepal in August 2009, Switzerland’s cooperation with Nepal continues to focus on federal state building, employment and income as well as migration. Switzerland is committed to support Nepal’s socio-economic development and federal state building at national, provincial and local level.

Innovation and Digitalisation Expert
The Innovation and Digitalisation Expert will ensure that innovation and digitalisation will be well anchored in the SDC Nepal, both through project implementation and thematic advice. She/ he will contribute to the shaping of the position as the role and demands evolve. The Innovation and Digitalisation Expert will have the overall responsibility for the implementation of projects to promote innovation and digitalization, i.e., the new project Digital Innovation for Growth and Inclusion in Nepal (DIGI Nepal).
The Innovation and Digitalisation Expert acts as thematic adviser within SDC/the Embassy. Advice includes close collaboration with the team on migration and the team on federal state building to support inclusion of digitalization component in ongoing and new interventions.
Expert competence/Methodical / Social Competence:
Master Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technologies or any field related to innovation and digitalisation; At least 5 years of practical work experience in the development sector or private sector, i.e. in the area of private sector development, and innovation; Excellent management skills and experience in the implementation of innovation processes; Proven experience as an advisor to the teams and institutions as a thematic expert. Sound understanding of innovation processes; Good understanding of and experience with project cycle management (PCM); Networking, negotiation and communication skills; Ability to facilitate and foster partnerships.
