Over 400 children engaged in Belize City Council’s Youth Innovation Incubator & Youth Connect Summer Blast Programs

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez:  Over 400 children from Belize City participated in the Belize City Council’s Youth Innovation Incubator & Youth Connect Summer Blast Programs.

The 4-week programs included capacity development and exploration trips.

On August 10, 2023, Mayor Bernard Wagner, the Belize City Council, and the Child Advisory Body Belize City concluded the programs with the official Certificate and Wrap-Up Ceremony at the Bliss Institute for Performing Arts.

The Belize City Council thanked stakeholders who contributed to the programs including the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Holy Redeemer Credit Union, Atlantic Bank Limited, Belize Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Museum of Belize / National Institute of Culture and History, Bowen & Bowen, GraceKennedy (Belize) Ltd., MADISCO Company, Snackers, Dr. Carol Babb, Loving is Key, Pou Meatpies, D&E Vegetable Shop, and Royal Catering Services.

“We’re elated to have had the opportunity to engage nearly 400 kids this summer and look forward to the opportunity to do so next year as we remain committed to children and adolescent participation, youth engagement, and empowerment,” the Belize City Council noted.
