Sundar Pichai Posts YouTube’s Latest AI Enabled Dream Screen Tool; Netizens Ask If It Is Innovation Or Imitation – Tech

In its ambitious ‘Made in YouTube’ event on September 21, 2023, the company rolled out a host of features. These AI-enabled features will push the boundaries of content creation on the platform.

Dream Screen – that’ll generate static AI images or videos. Users will be able to produce cutting edge backgrounds for their videos with text prompts. This would be a dream come true for productions with limited budgets, vying to make a space short or generate an enchanted dream sequence (or a nightmarish). Dream Screen will be available to select creators towards the end of this year, before a full-fledged rollout next year. In the company blog, VP Tony Reid claims that in the future, there’ll be even more advanced features that’ll reimagine existing videos instantly.

YouTube Create – a seamless AI enabled editing tool for content creators, available as a brand new YouTube Create app. The app includes standard editing tools, including trimming, auto-captioning, voiceover, tons of transitions, effects, royalty-free music, and more. Wonder if Adobe will launch a similar suit in the future!

AI Insights – Analytics can change the game for content creators, and YouTube is now fueling it with AI. YouTube Studio will have tools that help generate ideas and provide personalized insights to help creators come up with better content.

Besides AI insights, the company will roll out a host of other AI-enabled features, such as Creator Music for finding the exact soundtrack via text description and automatic dubbing via Aloud.

While most of the reactions were congratulatory, calling the new release legendary, not all users were amused. One user slammed the new features, asking Pichai if they were all an innovation or imitation of Canva.

Another user asked what the point of all the AI-generated illusive backgrounds was, ‘when we should have reality.’ The user asked, Why please ourselves with stuff that ‘doesn’t even exist.’
