BCN eMotorsport: Fueling the Future of Racing Innovation – Eurocircuits

OUR HISTORY BCN eMotorsport, is a team which originated in 2007, when 13 students from the ETSEIB (Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria Industrial de Barcelona) created the first Formula Student team in Spain under the name ETSEIB Motorsport. Every year, the team grew in terms of knowledge and also took significant steps at the university, national, and international levels. Always eager to adapt to changes in new technologies and be pioneers in this field, in 2012, we made the leap to electric mobility. We became the first Spanish Formula Student team to design and manufacture an electric single-seater, the CAT05e. In 2018, the Driverless UPC team was created, becoming the first Spanish team to develop a Formula Student car capable of competing in the autonomous electric category. The 2020-2021 season was pivotal in the team’s history. The two teams, ETSEIB Motorsport and Driverless UPC, merged into one, BCN eMotorsport. Since then, we’ve continued improving in both mechanical and electrical aspects, having two very successful seasons with the team’s first fusion cars, the CAT14x and CAT15x. We will continue upholding BCN eMotorsport’s tradition of excellence and leadership in Formula Student. Electronics department The mission of the Electronics department is to design, manufacture, and validate the electrical components that power our single-seater race car, with the aim of maintaining maximum reliability. Additionally, the section is responsible for developing a telemetry system that allows us to remotely monitor real-time data and quickly diagnose any issues that may arise during testing.
