SiW: FastFWD to Innovation and Inspiration

Just before the Hey Stamford! Food Festival we told you about a pretty cool event that would be popping up within the next few weeks in Stamford.  It’s called Stamford Innovation Week (SiW) and in it’s second year, and some tremendous growth, the event is something we think will shine a light on Stamford as a destination for entrepreneurs and innovation.

Think of this event as a mash-up between SXSW and a large TEDx Event.  Over the course of about a week and a half, SiW will bring together about 5,000 attendees over 20 unique events, including conferences, social and culture experiences, workshops and more.

A major piece of SiW is the FastFWD Innovation & Technology Conference.  FastFWD will bring together innovators and industry pros to share insights driving innovation and creating disruption today.  Content will examine markets, technologies, and other “macro” level concepts and events to explore the root cause of change, and what opportunities and challenges we need to prepare for today.

With more than 25 sessions throughout the day, there is certainly content for everyone. That said there are some speakers I am particularly excited to hear, including:

  • Peter Woodfork: Peter will talk about how Major League Sports have excelled and stayed relevant in the digital age
  • Amanda Slavin – The Seventh Level of Engagement: Fostering Innovation Through Community and Brand Interaction
  • Shawn Nelson, Founder of Lovsac
  • Rajan Mehta, How WWE has become a dominant player in digital media
  • Mike Barlow & Cornelia Levy-Bencheton Smart Cities 2030—What does the city of the future of American cities look like in the mid-term?
