MSc Innovation through Media Arts Technology and MSc Data Science | British Council

Queen Mary University of London: Master of Science in Media & Arts Technology

Dual Degree

The broad goal of MSIMAT/MIMAT-MSMAT is to develop students capable of conceptualizing, prototyping, and testing interactive artifacts and experiences that combine the creative arts with computer and electronics-based technologies. By the end of the degree programs, students are expected to be able to (1) articulate and anticipate trends in media, art and technology and how these might be applied to broad world situations and problems, (2) develop basic competence in programming, the use of electronics and the operation of production equipment, (3) perform creative engagements between art and technology, (4) engage with the generative tensions provided by available resources and material conditions towards proactive and imaginative responses, and (5) validate innovations through user testing, peer review and publication.

This is a two-year program with 20 months to be spent in Ateneo de Manila University and 4 months in Queen Mary University of London.

Ateneo de Manila University: Master of Science in Data Science with Study Abroad Option

Dual Degree

The Master of Science in Data Science aims to develop capability to derive insight from large datasets using statistical and computational methods. By completing degree-programsthis program, students shall have learned how to: (1) model and analyse data from a variety of domains ranging from Internet social networks and applications, to natural language and sensor data, (2) apply a variety of data mining techniques for modeling datasets, handling incomplete and erroneous data, and automatically predicting and classifying elements in a dataset, and (3) select and apply big data processing and cloud computing techniques to address the scalability challenges of very large datasets.

This is an 18-21 month program, with a 4-month study abroad option in Queen Mary University of London.
