Sudbury innovation centre expands to Toronto area – Northern Ontario Business
NORCAT has opened a new office in Mississauga, which is expected to serve clients in the Toronto-area construction industry.
In a Dec. 4 news release, the Sudbury-headquartered training and innovation centre said its new office will offer skilled labour training and development programs, and strategic advisory services to construction companies, including compliance and risk management, talent and human capital, and training and development strategies.
NORCAT additionally provides training in the WSIB Health and Safety Excellence program and the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program, and is a member of the League of Champions safety awareness program.
This marks the sixth location in its network, which includes offices in Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Timmins, and Santiago, Chile, in addition to the NORCAT Underground Centre in Onaping, a Sudbury bedroom community.
“Establishing our office in the GTA reinforces our commitment to ensuring exceptional quality and service levels for our clients, and specifically strengthens and expands our capabilities in the region’s flourishing construction industry,” Jason Bubba, NORCAT’s director of training and development, said in the news release.
“With our continued investments in our training and development programs, the launch of Studio NORCAT, and the growth of our human capital advisory practice, we felt the timing was right to better engage our clientele in the GTA and the construction industry more broadly.”
Dan Fleming has been hired on as the office’s manager.
