  1. The Science for African Agriculture (S4AC) Consortium comprising AFAAS, ASARECA, CCARDESA, CORAF and FARA, has secured resources from the EU under the Development Smart Development through Research Study in Farming (DeSIRA) effort to implement a 4-year project in Africa. The overall spending plan available to the S4AC consortium under this task is EUR30 million. This job, called CAADP Ex-Pillar 4 Africa Regional and Sub-regional Organizations for Agricultural Research Study and Development (CAADP-XP4) project will link research study and development with development initiatives to enhance the transformation of development in farming and food systems to make them more durable to environment change and much better responsive to development needs. Its objective is to enable agricultural research study and development, consisting of extension services, to contribute successfully to food and nutrition security, financial advancement and climate mitigation in Africa.
  1. The general objective of the CAADP-XP4 is to increase the contribution of Africa’s regional and country level farming and food innovation systems towards achievement of climate appropriate and sustainable improvement of the continent’s farming and food systems.
  1. The goal of this request for expression of interest is to engage a consultant to develop, validate and introduce an in-depth method, guidelines and design template in 2020 to guide the production of the primary flagship report dubbed “Africa Status Report on Research Study and Development (AfARR)” in the year 2021.
  1. As part of the duty, the Expert will be appointed mainly to:
    • Develop the scope and material required to produce the very first AfARR (Consisting of content submission template to assist authors, annotated chapters, cover design, etc).
    • Recognize authors for the various contents (theme/chapters) of the publication, possible source of data, style, publishers, and other appropriate procedures required of a Flagship report.
    • Set up an International Editorial Group (IED) for AfARR.
    • Determine users of the report and how the final report will be disseminated.
    • Style a programme of activities with timelines on how the first edition will be conducted.
    • Arrange a recognition workshop for the material requirement of AfARR.
    • Settle file and draft a programme for the launch of the first AfARR content in October 2020.
