Malacañang has welcomed the Philippines’ latest ranking in the Global Innovation Index (GII).
The publication of the 13th edition of the GII on September 1 showed the country jumped by four places from last year’s ranking of 54th.
The GII ranks world economies according to their creative outputs, institutions, human capital and research, infrastructure, market sophistication, business sophistication, and knowledge and technology output.
Citing the Department of Science and Technology, Roque said the ranking “helps place innovation firmly on the policy map of economies.”
