COVID-19 Business Lifeline – Startup & Innovation Tablelands

COVID-19 has brought unprecedented tough times for our local Tablelands businesses. Startup Tablelands, with support from Advance Queensland and Tablelands Regional Council, is proud to be able to offer FREE confidential business advice from experienced mentors to help businesses adapt during this difficult time, or even just get your burning questions answered for a little less uncertainty.

If you’re a small business owner – now is the time to ask for help! Whether you’ve been forced to close as a result of government restrictions, had to quickly change your business model and operations to try and maintain an income stream, have lost cash flow as isolated customers stop spending money, are unsure how to set your team up for remote working, or are just feeling overwhelmed by so much uncertainty and unanswered questions – this support is for you!

Sessions are one-on-one, strictly confidential and can be conducted online or in-person with strict health measures in place.

Each session is for up to one hour. Each business can have up to TWO sessions.

Michael Lawrence CPA from Inspire Business Consulting has over 30 years of diverse experience supporting businesses; focusing on assisting owners identify and address the issues and opportunities that they have.  This is done by providing an objective and experienced perspective, reviewing all aspects of the business including customer and product review, profit and financial analysis and cash flow, market assessment and finance applications.  Michael has an in-depth knowledge of the business environment on the Atherton Tablelands and broader FNQ region.

Seamus Campbell from Boldacious Digital is providing training and consultation in Remote Working Solutions. Seamus can help any businesses with remote-work training and consultation, software training, business automation, and website development support. Specialist in Zoom, Slack, Airtable, Google Suite, Stripe, Zapier, WordPress, Loom. 

Val Cozens is providing consulting and support for almost all online components of business, for sole operator and micro- to medium-sized business. Val has 6+ years behind her of working remotely, working from home, and working globally via various online platforms and tools. Val has in-depth knowledge of the online business environment. She is able to help local businesses who are considering, or in the midst of, moving some or all of your business online. As well as Consulting, Val is also a Personal Coach, and she also works in the suicide postvention space, so while these sessions with her are about your business, you can be sure you will be talking with someone who is solid, safe, and compassionate.

Kylie Smith from To The Point Productions would be able to assist people in cost-effective ways to create graphic design elements, publications and animations as well as provide graphic design and animation services for any who need it.

In her capacity as owner and managing director of a specialised accounting practice, Margot Richardson, FCPA GAICD, has over 30 years experience delivering expert and tailored business advice to a broad variety of organisations. Her business, Business Mapping Solutions, holds contracts with small and medium businesses operating in often remote areas from Cairns to Karratha.
With a proven record of securing growth and implementing robust processes for her clientele, Margot is adept at navigating the often confusing bureaucracy of government assistance to small businesses. She has overseen structural reform within many of the organisations she has worked with and is a member of the board for several companies and NFPs.
Margot specialises in working with indigenous businesses and is accustomed to the nuanced approach often required with respect to the cultural needs of our first nation peoples.
As a Tablelands resident herself, Margot is personally interested in the ongoing prosperity in the region. She is well placed to provide assistance with local knowledge to the businesses in the region.
