Startups to get tech innovation support from eGeneration, Microsoft

Homegrown startups will get technological innovation support from eGeneration and Microsoft for scaling up their platforms.

The announcement came at a roundtable titled “Building Best in Class & Scalable Startup Platforms” on Monday evening at The Westin Dhaka.

The event was jointly organised by eGeneration and Microsoft, says a press release.

The two organisations also presented the cases for tech innovation opportunities for the start-ups, added the release.

Shameem Ahsan, Managing Director, eGeneration, chaired the discussion session while Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Deputy Minister of Education, was present as the chief guest.

Brig Gen Md Nasim Parvez,ndc, afwc, psc, Director General, Systems and Services Division, BTRC was present as special guest.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury stated the importance of startups and Microsoft for setting up the dialogue.

“We need our local businesses to thrive and grow rapidly to bring equality in the Bangladesh’s digital divide. Government has all the intentions to give this sector the needed policy support to streamline processes for the startups”, he said.

Shameem Ahsan emphasised the potential start-ups and SMEs have to be the backbone of a developed Bangladesh by bringing foreign investment, employment generation, and export income.
