New Carbon Fiber Jewelry by LACE Is Sculptural Innovation You Can Wear
The design-led, architecturally inspired, and tech-guided jewelry brand, LACE by Jenny Wu, has launched their highly anticipated Carbon collection of 3D printed carbon fiber jewelry that we can’t wait to get on our bodies.
Made in partnership with 3D printing and materials company, Impossible Objects, LACE’s Carbon collection uses cutting-edge composite-based manufacturing technology (CBAM) that allows carbon fiber material to be printed into intricate, three-dimensional designs. By pairing carbon fiber material with PEEK, a thermoplastic matrix material, LACE created an innovative and ultra-modern line of lightweight, 3D printed jewelry that’s as sculptural as it is wearable. The first of its kind!
The technology behind the Carbon collection allowed the brand to celebrate the curved, intricate shapes they’re known for, all while prioritizing durability and ease of wear (they’re so lightweight, you’ll even forget you’re wearing them!). “I’m so excited about the possibilities that CBAM offers, it enables me to produce beautifully detailed pieces,” says Jenny Wu, “Normally, I would be concerned about its durability, but the infusion of carbon fiber in these pieces have made them exponentially stronger.” Every piece of jewelry in the Carbon collection is hyper-detailed but not dainty, sculptural but not costume – they’re pieces of modern art that beg to be worn. Even better, the line has officially landed in the Design Milk Shop!
Allegro Cuff Carbon Bracelet
Allegro Cuff Carbon Bracelet
We love the simple beauty of the Allegro Cuff. The ribbon-like, three-dimensional shape embodies a softness that’s for a beautiful contrast against the durability of the material. The cuff’s sweeping curves elegantly hug your wrist/forearm as if it’s an extension of you – a perfect piece to wear casually for everyday or on nights out. Fun fact: 396 sheets (!!) of carbon fiber fabrics were intricately layered to create the Allegro Cuff!
Amos Carbon Ring
Made by layering 209 sheets of 3D printed carbon fiber fabric, the Amos Ring has an ultra-modern and minimal twisting band that folds upward, giving the ring its dynamic curved shape, and stacks snuggly right on top of its companion ring, the Amor. The Amos’ lightweight, durable construction makes it an easy accessory to slip on for daily wear and looks even better when paired with its Amor counterpart. The two would make a lovely holiday gift set! (hint hint).
Aura Carbon Earrings
Characterized by the artful misalignment of two angled loops, the Aura Earrings are a modern and unique upgrade from conventional hoop or drop earring styles. The only thing better than the earrings’ elevated and sleek design is their incredibly lightweight feel. Something any jewelry wearer will undoubtedly appreciate. Aura’s elegant angles and modern approachable style make these earrings seamless (and eye-catching) additions to just about any look.
Amor Carbon Ring
The Amor Ring is defined by its single twisting band and the precision edge detailing – which gives the ring a sense of motion and makes it such an experience to wear. Designed to be worn alone or in conjunction with the Amos Ring, the Amor Ring features a soft, nuanced simplicity that allows it to make an aesthetic statement on its own. Wearers will love the comfortable feel of the Amor on their finger and the architectural edge it lends to a look.
