New CCH strategic plan strives to embrace innovation Back to video

“Over the past number of months, we have engaged with our CCH teams, partners, and stakeholders to set strategic directions that will chart a course for our future, and enhance the care and services we provide to the community,” Jeanette Despatie, CCH president and CEO, said in a press release.

“The result of this collective effort is a strategic plan that positions CCH for a strong post-pandemic recovery, focuses on people, and promotes health system integration.”

The 2022-2027 strategic plan coincides with a critical transformation period for healthcare, as hospitals begin to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new plan includes three strategic directions aiming to “create measurable positive impacts on our population.” These directions — recovery, people, and integration — aim to equitably support the needs of a diverse pool of patients and staff, while working with local healthcare providers, namely the Upper Canada Cornwall and Area Ontario Health Team (UCCA OHT).

CCH boasts advancing its health informatics and technologies, surgical programs, and family and caregiver engagement throughout the previous strategic plan. Health informatics, the digital consolidation of health-related records and data, has improved accessibility to patients, doctors, nurses, administrators, and/or insurers, with patient information now available electronically in a private portal.

“The Board of Directors is excited and proud to endorse this new strategic plan, which reinforces CCH’s role as a regional leader in healthcare delivery, and will improve local healthcare services for years to come,” said Josée Payette, CCH board chair, in a press release.

“We thank all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, care partners, community members, organizations, and municipal leaders for their thoughtful contributions to the development of the plan, and we look forward to working with them on its implementation,” added Despatie.
