I am excited and honored to be presenting at the 2022 Innovation Institute in Springdale, Arkansas this June 8th and 9th!
I always look forward to an opportunity to see old friends, make new friends, share some ideas, and learn so many new things from others.

📅 WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8, 2022

The Big Blank Wall

  • Time: 9:00am – 10:30am
  • Location: PAC
  • Description: The world is changing and our classrooms need to change as well. What skills do our students need to be successful in their future? And how do we as educators embrace this change? Take a trip with Eric back to his first classroom to learn about the difference between “Process” and “Purpose”, to see what the future holds for our students, and explore the 4 C’s we need to teach our students to prepare them for what is ahead.

Super Screencastify Activities for Students and Teachers

  • Time: 11:50am – 12:45pm
  • Location: B101
  • Description: It has never been easier than now for students and teachers to create their own videos. Screencastify is a free Google Chrome web extension that lets you or your students record your computer screen, voice, and webcam. The recorded video can then be saved easily to Drive, shared with others, or downloaded. Learn how to install and use this tool, and then explore ways this can be used in schools including instructional videos, student assessments, student projects, personalized teacher feedback, narrating slideshows, giving speeches, dubbing videos, explaining solutions, and much more.

Hipster Google – Tools You Probably Never Heard Of

  • Time: 2:00pm – 2:55pm
  • Location: B101
  • Description: Everyone knows about Google Docs, Gmail, Search, and other common Google tools. But there are also loads of smaller, lesser-known, but powerful tools that can be used for teaching and learning. Learn about 70+ hidden gems such as nGram, Trends, AutoDraw, Chrome Music Lab, Toontastic, Landlines, Meme Buddy, Reverse Image Search, Instant Search Cards, Semantris, Grasshopper, Art Palette, Timelapse, Data GIF Maker and more (List subject to change based on how cool and unknown the tools remain.)

Google Tools to Support all Learners

  • Time: 3:05pm – 4:00pm
  • Location: B101
  • Description: There are many Google tools, apps, extensions, and features available to assist all learners, including students with special needs. These can include text-to-speech, speech-to-text, readability, reading comprehension, audio support, organization, focus, navigation, and more. Learn what tools are available and how to access and use these with students.

  • Time: 9:00am – 10:45am
  • Location: B101
