AUST-TAA ‘Apparel Washing’ seminar focuses on innovation

To expand the washing technology knowledge in the fresh minds Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) Textile Alumni Association organized a day-long seminar and training on Apparel Washing on 26th June 2022.

Around 400 students and alumni were present at the seminar. The seminar highlighted innovative ways of apparel washing. At the same time, it was really informative paving the way for students to take up washing as a career and aiding in taking the correct decision in the industry.

Washing is one of the most important sectors in the textile industry – which has undergone a massive transformation in terms of innovation in the recent past. But textile students lack holistic ideas about the work opportunity in this sector. To overcome this, AUST-TAA arranged this seminar on apparel washing – where the industry experts envisioned the students properly leading in the washing sector.

A.K Azad, Managing Director, Ha-Meem Group was the Chief Guest of this seminar, who joined virtually. Among other special guests are Anawar Ul Alam Chowdhury, Chairman, Evince Group and former President BGMEA; Syed Farid Ahmed, Managing Director, Unique Washing and Dyeing; Rafee Mahmood, DMD of Mahmud Group.

While Dr. Muhammad Fazle Elahi, Vice-Chancellor, AUST; Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AUST were present as guests of honor.

Ashim Ghosh, Sr. Washtech, C&A; Arief Mohammad Labu, Country Head, Denimco, Bangladesh was present as a guest speaker, and Prof. Dr. Lal Mohan Baral, HOD Dept of Textile Engineering, AUST was the President of the seminar. And the seminar was hosted and moderated by Mosannef Hossain Bhuiya, Convener, AUST-TAA.
