Tracking Ride-hailing in Chicago – Center for Data Innovation

The city of Chicago has published a dataset of the more than 17 million Uber, Lyft, and Via trips that have taken place in the city since November 2018. The dataset includes information on the starting and end times, location, fare, and tip for each trip. The dataset shows that more than half of the rides cost less than $10 and that 82 percent of riders did not tip their driver. In addition, the City has published a separate dataset that includes anonymized driver data on the number of trips each driver has made.
