**POSITION DETAILS**

Reporting to the Provost, the Associate Provost for Innovation and Student Success is responsible for ensuring the excellence and sufficiency of Queens College’s academic and student support functions. Specifically, this position oversees the delivery of the highest quality, college-wide student success services, including but not limited to Writing Support, Career Planning, Mentoring Programs, Academic Support, Honors Programming and Experiential Education. In addition, this position works in a collaborative fashion with faculty and administrators across the College to provide integrated student services functions. The Associate Provost must possess a deep commitment to fostering student success and educational access. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

– Oversee and lead, including budget, staffing, and structure, the following programs: Experiential Education and the CUNY Service Corps, the World of Work Program, the Ibrahim Program, the QC Center for Career Engagement and Internships, First Year Experience, Learning Commons and Academic Support Center, Writing Center, Honors and Scholarships, Macaulay Honors, Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program, Kessler Presidential Scholars, Transfer Honors and Student Success Grants, in addition to future CUNY or other programs and partnerships that pertain to this area

– Oversee Assistant Provost for Student Academic Progression

– Spearhead the framing and implementation of new programs that enhance the campus student success goals

– Provide leadership for developing and achieving College-wide strategic initiatives, including assessment of department outcomes within the division in relation to strategic plan goals and institutional reaccreditation.

– Oversee research, development, implementation, and achievement of strategic planning objectives for student retention and success.

– Lead and collaborate on the development, implementation and evaluation of student success services

– Oversee the development of institutional grant proposals to support student success efforts and advance academic momentum, internally and externally

– Establish methods to ensure that scholarship resources are being effectively utilized to improve student retention and on-time graduation

– Strategize and develop ways to enhance student recruitment and retention of diverse and underrepresented student populations and on-time graduation, academic growth and success

– Liase, communicate, and collaborate with individuals and units at Queens College, CUNY, and throughout the CUNY system, in areas pertaining to the role

– Collaborate with faculty and staff on initiatives and projects that support service learning, undergraduate research, civic engagement and other experiential education projects, that help broaden student perspectives in both local and global communities

– Establish training and professional development opportunities for staff members.

– Utilize and translate data for the decision making as it relates to student success programs and initiatives, and their assessment

– Serve on the Dean’s Council and President’s council

– Additional duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**

This position is in CUNY’s Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ related experience.

– Successful experience in higher education enrollment management, including budgetary and personnel responsibilities, strategic planning, and program development.

– Proven experience in providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction.

– Excellent organizational skills and analytical ability, a strong focus on outcomes, and experience in communicating results.

– Demonstrated ability to work with persons of ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse backgrounds

– Must be analytical, data-informed and results-oriented.

– Skilled at developing staff, fostering teamwork and managing change.

– Experience in grant writing and management

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**

Salary range: **$165,000-$185,000**

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 — City of New York employees and employees of participating employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.
