A Taste of Innovation: Aslin Beer Co.’s $4M Project in Virginia Beach Unveiled – WPL

A new craft brewery is set to grace Virginia Beach, with a boost from the City’s Economic Development Department. Aslin Beer Co., hailing from Northern Virginia, has teamed up with a local landowner for a $4 million project encompassing a brewery, tasting room, and an inviting indoor/outdoor beer garden in the heart of the 800 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard. Known for its buzz-worthy New England-style IPAs, fruit-infused sours, and robust imperial stouts, Aslin Beer Co. was founded by Kai Leszkowicz and Andrew Kelley. With existing locations in Herndon, Alexandria, Washington, and a forthcoming spot in Pittsburgh, the eagerly anticipated Virginia Beach brewery aims to open its doors in spring of 2024. Boasting a visionary design by esteemed Virginia Beach architect Jeremy Maloney of Altruistic Design, the brewery will be strategically located near the police department’s 2nd Precinct station and the new sports center. This innovative space will feature unique elements, including vertically installed shipping containers painted in vivid shades of pink, turquoise, blue and yellow, creating a striking visual along the commercial corridor. The integration of shipping containers pays homage to the nearby port, adding a unique local touch. These 40-foot structures will play a central role in framing the outdoor beer garden, offering visitors an immersive experience in the retail store and tasting room. From the much-loved “Power Moves” IPA to the heavenly “Volcano Sauce” sour ale, Aslin’s offerings promise a palate-pleasing experience. Beyond beer, the brewery will feature its own distilled whiskey and freshly brewed coffee, complemented by a delectable menu, including morning bagel sandwiches, sourdough pizza, and weekend barbecue delights. Special occasions will see seafood boils adding a coastal flair to the culinary offerings. Looking ahead, Aslin Beer Company envisions a vibrant calendar of events, from beer festivals and markets, to trivia nights, movie screenings, and wellness activities like yoga and Crossfit.
