Active Transport Bike Riding Innovation Challenge | TfNSW Open Data Hub and Developer Portal
How can you make regular bike riding from A to B an easy and fun experience?
About the Challenge
Bike riding is a great option to get from A to B. Not only is it a good alternative to a car but there are also health and cost benefits and it reduces traffic and congestion!
Despite the benefits, there are still several barriers that prevent people from choosing bike riding for non-leisure journeys over other transport modes.
Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is challenging innovators to come up with a data or technology focused solution to help people overcome these barriers in order to make bike riding easy and fun, and in turn promote the use of bike riding as a viable mode of non-leisure transport.
For an in-depth look at the barriers and triggers to bike riding as indicated by our research, as well as known data limitations, please visit the FAQ page.
The primary focus of this challenge is on solutions focussed around data and technology – not change management or similar programs. Seed funding from $5,000 to $50,000 is available for successful applicants, if required.
A virtual information session will be held on Wednesday 12 May 2021, providing interested parties an opportunity to learn more about the challenge, what’s on offer, and ask questions. Register for the information session via Eventbrite. Can’t make it on the day? A recording of the information session will be made available on this page after the event.
