An appreciation letter from Lithuanian Minister of Economy and Innovation for Aloys Bruggeman, honorary consul of the Republic of Lithuania

On November 30 Mr Julijus Glebovas Attaché for Commercial Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania to the Netherlands handed over the appreciation letter of Ms Aušrinė Armonaitė, Lithuanian Minister of Economy and Innovation to Mr Aloys Bruggeman, RE RA, honorary consul of the Republic of Lithuania. In her letter Minister of Economy and Innovation Ms Aušrinė Armonaitė expressed her appreciation to Mr Aloys Bruggeman among others for his continued support, commitment and active involvement in developing economic and commercial relations, including circular economy and circular transition between Lithuania and the Netherlands. Ms Aušrinė Armonaitė pointed out that circular transition is essential to address enormous chalenges the planet is increasingly facing today due to pollution and the loss of biodiversity; it therefore makes an inseparable part of Lithuanian future activities and efforts aimed to turn problems into opportunities and contribute to a better and cleaner world. Great achievements and best practice examples of the Netherlands in this field create ideal occasions for Lithuania to learn from Netherlands and take advantage of cooperation possibilities to succesfully integrate into Europe’s circular economy value chains. Mr Aloys Bruggeman said:’’I am truly honored with the appreciation letter of the Minister of Economy and Innovation Ms Aušrinė Armonaitė. Lithuania is a unique country with immense potential which knows how to approach global challenges. There are many fields of possible cooperation between Lithuania and the Netherlands and circular economy and circular transition are definitely of huge importance.” On 5 April 2022, Lithuania officially opened its Honorary Consulate in the province Limburg of the Netherlands in Heerlen headed by Mr Aloys Bruggeman. Honorary Consulate contributes to the strengthening of business ties between Lithuania and the Netherlands, as well as to the bilateral cultural and academic exchange.
