Apex Brasil & Elets to stage AgriTalks India-Brazil on Sept 28 on Agriculture Innovation & Food Security – eGov Magazine | Elets
Agriculture along with its allied sectors is undoubtedly the largest livelihood provider in India catering to nearly 58 per cent of the country’s populace. The Indian agro-industry is poised for immense growth, increasing its contribution to the world’s food trade year on year displaying its vast potential for adding value to the food processing industry. However, India is facing the challenge of dwindling productivity owing to small and fragmented farm holdings. On the brighter side, the issue has opened doors and help it to regain its place among the top producers’ list.
On the other hand, Brazil has made rapid strides in its Agriculture sector. The country has developed a robust ecosystem for Agri-Tech startups and innovations to develop low-cost, scalable and financially viable technology solutions. This has resulted in harnessing better yield and augmenting farm income. The Brazilian model demonstrates how the country is making its agro-industry future-ready by welcoming AgriTech startups, innovation and technology in the industry.
Thus India and Brazil are natural partners to complement each others’ efforts in the agriculture sector and contribute towards creating a more food secure world. There is great potential between the two countries to further strengthen their bilateral partnerships in the areas of start-ups, technology transfers, scientific exchanges, bilateral investments, and trade opportunities in the agricultural and food industry.
With this objective, Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade & Investment Promotion Agency) together with Elets Technomedia is going to organise AgriTalks India-Brazil (virtual) on September 28, 2021, at 07:30 Hrs BRT (16:00 Hrs IST) on the theme ‘Agricultural innovation and food security’.
