Boao Forum of Asia local innovation and tech conference to also be held in 2021 | Macau Business
There will be a second Conference of the International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum (ISTIF) in 2021, together with an international exhibition of science, technology and innovation, the Boao Forum of Asia Secretary-General, Li Baodong, indicated in an announcement.
The first ISTIF reached its end yesterday (Thursday), with several forums and face-to-face activities held during the three-day conference, which brought together around 1,000 representatives from 25 countries, the Hong Kong and Macau Chief Executives, more than ten ministers, two heads of international organizations, around 100 keynote speakers, nine diplomatic representatives in China, and more than ten heads of international companies.
Ban Ki-moon, President of the Boao Forum for Asia and former United Nations Secretary-General, the former Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and other diplomatic representatives were also present.
The event included debates on 5G networks, intellectual property or autonomous driving and artificial intelligence, with organizers underlining that international cooperation in tech and science investigation was needed to overcome humanity’s largest challenges, including the current Covid-19 pandmeic.
