Bungoma County to benefit from Kenya climate innovation centre agribusiness funding – Westfm Kenya

It’s now evident that Kenyans who are above 57 years of age are the ones mainly involved in farming. This is according to Kenya climate innovation center, an organization that is out to ensure youths and women take part in farming across Bungoma County. Bungoma County is the first County to enter into an agreement with the organization.

The managing director of the organization Mr. Edward Mungai said youths and women will be fully funded to engage in agribusiness. He said there is approximately Kshs 5.1 billion set aside for the initiative for a period of five years.

The program is set to benefit more than 17,000 youths by creating employment and boosting the economy.

Bungoma County Governor Wycliffe Wangamati supported the program saying that the initiative will be an answer to the rampant unemployment in the County and other selected Counties.
