Care Innovation Hub hosts weekend hackathon

A weekend hackathon has been held by the Care Innovation Hub as part of a bid to introduce new ideas and innovation into the social care sector.

Entrepreneurs from various professions came together to find solutions to the biggest problems facing social care.

Christine Asbury, CEO of Care Innovation Hub founding partner, WCS Care, said: “What an inspiring weekend – inspirational teams, challenging ideas, and a group of founders determined to develop and draw out the skills and enthusiasm the sector has to draw on.”

Avnish Goyal, Hallmark Care Homes and Care England, chair, added: “I was delighted to judge the hackathon. It is so exciting to see the talent that is coming into the care sector to provide solutions to making a profound difference to both residents and care teams alike and we at Hallmark Care Homes are proud to be part of this.”

Selected finalists will present to the Hub’s panel of judges and a group of executives at the Department of Health and Social Care, at an event hosted by Caroline Dinenage, Minister for Health and Social Care.
