Celebrating tradition and innovation Yeshiva University to hold its 98TH ANNUAL HANUKKAH DINNER ON DEC. 4 with new venue and interactive experience.
The event will feature entertaining performances and hi-tech installations to spotlight the successes of the University’s $613 Million Rise Up fundraising campaign
Through an innovative blend of immersive technologies and a state-of-the-art culinary experience, Yeshiva University’s 98th Annual Hanukkah Dinner, on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at the Glasshouse, reimagines a cherished tradition with an eye on the future, imbued with the Core Torah Values that underscore every aspect of the University.
The newly imagined event, billed as Rise Up: Experience the Impact, will give participants the opportunity to experience first-hand the impact of their gifts to Rise Up: The Campaign for 613 through touch-screen kiosks, pop-up theaters, surround-sound video and hologram testimonials from YU students, backed by the dynamic big band sound of Chris Norton and the powerful voice of Shulem Lemmer.
Fueled by our core Torah values, committed to academic excellence and geared to empower our students to be the leaders of tomorrow, the flagship Jewish university is on the rise. “We are rising in national rankings, soaring in student enrollment, launching in-demand academic programs and helping secure great jobs for our graduates. Ha-kol lichvodo!” said Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University. “I am looking forward to joining all of you at the Hanukkah Dinner to celebrate our achievements and the exceptional generosity of the YU Community.”
The Rise Up campaign is a dynamic effort to raise $613 million to position the University for future growth and success. The innovative dinner showcases the many ways that the Rise Up Campaign is bringing YU’s Five Torot to life: Seek Truth (Torat Emet), Discover your Potential (Torat Adam), Live your Values (Torat Chaim), Act with Compassion (Torat Chesed) and Bring Redemption (Torat Tzion).
The generous gifts and commitments that have been made through the campaign demonstrate tremendous confidence in the University’s bright future, and a commitment to the eternal values and traditions of the Jewish people. With the ongoing success of Rise Up, the University is meeting the evolving needs of its students and faculty through exciting new programs, innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives, and state-of-the-art facilities, thereby propelling it into its next great era. Already, students are benefitting from many new initiatives, including the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development; the Emil A. and Jenny Fish Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies; the Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks Center for Values and Leadership; the Anita Zucker Program for Jewish Early Childhood Educators; and the Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice at Cardozo Law School.
“This event is for everyone, all of our family, parents, supporters and friends,” said Ellen Finkelstein, Chief Strategy Officer for YU’s Office of Institutional Advancement. “It will be a fun, informative and inspiring evening”
