Centres4Her Development Released to eliminate Violence Versus Women and Girls – Campus Bee
As a contribution to the efforts to end violence against girls and women in Uganda, UN-Women in partnership with ResilientAfrica Network (RAN) www.ranlab.org are supporting recognition, incubation, advancement and scaling of different ingenious services.
Birthed from this partnership is the Centres4her application; a mobile application that connects girls and females experiencing violence to the available support services and sexual reproductive services.
A main statement Campus Bee has seen reveals that this app, in a bid to avoid preconception, hides the identity of the victims. “It is confidential and provides alternatives on a Centre that best fits a specific occurrence to attend to the reporting gap,” the statement reads.
The officials also compete that obstacle resulting from violence events consisting of illness episodes, disability and depression among others might be avoided if survivors accessed post violence services in time thus launch of Centres4Her.
The Centres4Her app has mapped the majority of the service companies including;
– Cops for reporting and investigation
– Medical Centres for access to treatment
– Psychosocial Therapy Centres for documentation and therapy services
– Shelters to provide shelter to the survivors
– Toll-free customer service
– Legal services and
– 116 Call Button (National Gender Based Violence helpline).
