Kid’s Healthcare facility Los Angeles releases 26-hospital pediatric digital development accelerator
that will link 26 health centers throughout the U.S., U.K. and Australia with 10 tech companies focused on increasing digital innovations in pediatric health care. Applications for the 13-week program, dubbed KidsX, opened Sept. 1; the program will follow a reverse pitch design
, which enables the taking part healthcare facilities to pitch their issues or obstacles to the startup neighborhood and after that deal with the business that have tech services to satisfy their needs. Some of the issues on the KidsX wish list include wearables and bi-directional communication technologies
for keeping track of pediatric patients at home, tools to enhance care transitions from pediatric to adult health care, and predictive analytics to determine possibly harmful medical outcomes in pediatric patients. Recognizing an absence of development programs in pediatric healthcare, CHLA united the 26 healthcare facilities, that include AdventHealth for Kid, Nemours Kid’s Health System and Seattle Kid’s, to begin extensive partnership, KidsX program director Omkar Kulkarni, primary innovation officer at CHLA, informed Becker’s Health center Evaluation.”Pediatric health centers by nature aren’t huge places, therefore we felt like there was a need for medical facilities working with one another to develop a bigger collective effortthat would enable us to get the attention of start-up business, investors and business owners,”Mr. Kulkarni said. Now, with a network of 26 medical facilities around the globe, participating systems will have the chance to pilot a minimum of one of the brand-new developments and technologies from the 10 digital
health business in the program. Applications for the accelerator close Oct. 7 and business will be selected jointly by the healthcare facilities Nov. 10. The 13-week program will then run every year from January through March. The 26 medical facilities participating
