Chipolo GO GPS Tracker Wins CES Innovation Award
The Bluetooth tracker company Chipolo won the Innovation award at CES 2020 for the Chipolo GO, a new tracker that uses GPS, Wi-Fi, and LTE technology in addition to Bluetooth. The tracker, which helps people locate lost items through the Chipolo app, was an honoree in the “Wearable Technology Segment” of CES 2020, which occurred last week in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Chipolo GO features a rechargeable battery with a life of six months and, unlike the rest of Chipolo’s trackers, unlimited range. It also works with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit, allowing users to ask their voice assistants to help them locate their tracker. Nika Kramžar, Chipolo’s Chief Marketing Officer, said in a recent blog post from Chipolo,
“We’re proud to say that Chipolos across the globe already reunite 50,000 misplaced items with their owners each day. The revolutionary technology incorporated in Chipolo GO will push the boundaries of what is possible for future trackers and give customers an affordable and easy way to track more valuable belongings such as bicycles, luggage and professional equipment.”
In addition to the Chipolo GO, which is not yet available for purchase, Chipolo also announced another Bluetooth tracker, the Chipolo DOT. The DOT features:
- Replaceable three-year battery
- LED light
- Six color options
- Water resistance.
Chipolo’s most recent Bluetooth tracker currently available for purchase is the Chipolo ONE, offering an 120-decibel siren, a replaceable two-year battery, plus water resistance. It also works as a shutter button to take selfies with.
The company also announced a new feature called Out of Range Alerts, so the app will alert users if they left an item behind. This feature can be used with the Chipolo ONE along with the Chipolo CARD, one of their existing products. As of now, the company hasn’t announced exact release dates for the GO or the DOT.
