Cisco Intersight Customer Stories: Enabling Innovation in a Multi-domain World
As Cisco celebrates the 10th year of growing its Unified Computing System® (UCS) community, we’re highlighting customer stories that feature Cisco Intersight to demonstrate how the deployment of this unique Software-as-a-Service removes the difficulties of supporting compute infrastructure at the edge, and in the data center – ultimately helping IT teams sleep better at night.
Cisco Intersight, provides intelligent cloud-powered infrastructure management for the Cisco UCS and Cisco HyperFlex platforms. Since its launch in 2017, we have continued to add innovation to its capabilities, such as third-party orchestration, a tight integration with Cisco TAC for proactive support, a mobile app for visibility on the go, and enhancements to Intersight’s recommendation engine for IT operations management, to name just a few.
Here are just a few stories from our customers:
DMM.com LLC: This Japan based service provider has developed more than 40 services, including videos, games, and English conversation classes. As with any service provider, quality of service is key, especially with a base of more than 29 million members, and a monthly active subscriber count of about 2.5 million users. After deploying Cisco Intersight, the company was able to visualize a large-scale virtual environment and quickly identify fault locations. Intersight’s functionality provided proactive intelligence by understanding and reporting on faults and potential security issues, keeping their SLAs intact with their subscribers.
EXMAR: Belgium-based EXMAR provides ships for the energy industry, supporting offshore extraction, transportation, and transformation of natural gases, petrochemical gases, and liquid hydrocarbons. As its business grew, EXMAR faced a complex IT operation that hampered support for their continuously changing business. To alleviate this issue, EXMAR turned to Cisco Intersight, to deploy Cisco HyperFlex Edge clusters in their remote locations, which led to streamlined IT operations, reduced costs, and accelerated problem resolution.
Macquarie Cloud Services: Macquarie Cloud Services (MCS), a Macquarie Telecom Group company, is building its delivery model on the premise that no two solutions should be the same. They needed guaranteed uptime, flexibility, and capacity to maintain high customer satisfaction. Using Cisco Intersight, MCS now easily configures and deploys additional capacity remotely, all while guaranteeing a consistent, positive customer experience.
Orvis: Founded in 1856, The Orvis Company is the world leader in fly-fishing equipment and adventurous living, with retail and data center operations in both the U.S. and UK. However, IT limitations were making it difficult to innovate, be responsive to stakeholder support respond, and remain agile. The centralized management of the Cisco Intersight cloud-based management platform allows Orvis IT to have a holistic view of all three data centers as well as retail, call center, and web activity, enabling accelerated business decisions and maintaining their high level of customer engagement.
After 10 successful years of supporting innovation, Cisco UCS, Cisco HyperFlex and Cisco Intersight have helped companies simplify and streamline IT operations by allowing IT teams to scale across the core, and edge continuum. Intersight Base edition is available for UCS and HyperFlex systems at no additional charge. Visit the Intersight web page to learn more and to start using Intersight today.
