Civic Innovation Challenge : Social Tech Trust

The winners of the 2019 Civic Innovation Challenge, developed and delivered in partnership with The Mayor of London will be announced in March.

The programme brings together tech startups, leading organisations and London communities to co-create innovative solutions to complex social challenges.

Now in its second year, the Civic Innovation challenge is seeking solutions to:

> Countering violent extremism online

> Helping London meet its housing needs

> Making the movement of goods and services in London safer, cleaner and more efficient

We’re seeking up to 40 tech startups to co-create their solutions directly with market users and work alongside Challenge Partners from the Metropolitan Police Service, the Greater London Authority, and Transport for London.

Programme Benefits

Successful teams will benefit from our Open Innovation Stage, providing access to the data, networks and expertise of their Challenge Partners, plus business support and a comprehensive curriculum of workshops and training sessions from Social Tech Trust and our partner, Microsoft.

At the end of the Open Innovation Stage, teams will pitch at a high-profile demo day, to an audience of investors, media and buyers.  One winning company or consortia from each Challenge area will be selected to progress to a final stage, to work alongside their Challenge Partner to test, validate and roll-out their solution, receiving £40,000 to support that delivery.

What we’re looking for

> An innovative solution that addresses the challenge

> A working product or prototype that can be piloted

> A strong London-based team, with a registered company in the UK

> The potential to achieve impact at scale
