Skills for Clean Growth

Skills for Clean Growth is a new programme of support for businesses in the West of England, launching in September 2021. It is led by UWE Bristol, in partnership with NatWest and is funded by the West of England Combined Authority’s (WECA’s) Workforce for the Future fund.

Skills for Clean Growth will help the West of England deliver its vision to drive clean and inclusive growth across the region, empowering SMEs to evaluate their low carbon status and identify the skills required to plan and implement clean business practices and behaviours.

Senior Business Development Manager

As Senior Business Development Manager you will lead the design and delivery of SME engagement across the programme, working closely with businesses to help identify the skills/knowledge required to meet their green business goals. You will lead the creation of a Clean Growth Skills Network, providing SMEs with access to online resources; industry blogs from supply chain leaders; and advice on applying for low carbons standards.

We are looking for an experienced business development professional with experience leading the delivery of large-scale business support programmes to SMEs. You will have excellent client management and programme design skills, and share our ambition for achieving the region’s net zero goals.

Skills Development Manager

As Skills Development Manager you will ensure that SMEs can access a variety of green skills development. You will help develop new sector-specific skills content for Clean Growth Toolkit workshops, modules and programmes e.g. zero carbon leadership; creating sustainable behavioural change; innovation and clean growth; and zero carbon logistics and supply chains.

We are looking for a skills/learning development professional with experience designing and overseeing delivery to SMEs. You will be a self-starter with first class written and analytical skills, and share our ambition for achieving the region’s net zero goals.

Help to Grow Programme

Led by the Faculty of Business and Law, and supported by RBI, Help to Grow is a government funded programme delivering leadership training to small and medium sized enterprises.

Help to Grow Project Officer p/t

The Help to Grow Project Officer will need to provide excellent support for the programme, leading on financial transactions, claims and timesheet capturing across the project team. You will also need to liaise with businesses, mentors, the academic delivery team and the funder to ensure financial compliance and timeliness of claims in line with requirements.
