Eight Years on a Mission of Innovation

When our birthdays arrive, most of us, despite it coming every year, might ask ourselves: “Why birthdays? Why do we celebrate them?”.

We might think that it is just a reminder of how old we are, but in fact, the real answer is beyond the age factor. Birthdays represent how far we’ve come and what we have accomplished so far. Here we are on Runecast’s 8th birthday, looking back at how one bright idea brought us to where we are today.

Remember our mission

Birthdays remind us about our mission and the journey we are making, they are always a good opportunity to look back and evaluate what you have achieved. Looking back, it feels amazing to see  what we have accomplished.

What has been driving us from the very beginning is our desire to invent better, smarter ways of solving problems. We saw how finding an automated way to leverage the vast human readable knowledge out there can help people in countless ways – from securing their IT environment to increasing availability and saving time and money. But our innovation didn’t stop with the initial idea. This is still our driving force today and what keeps us excited, satisfied and proud of what we do.

Some highlights from our journey so far

In the last three years we became a Gartner Cool Vendor, secured a US patent and gained many other notable awards. We expanded from a VMware ITOM solution, into a platform to secure and optimize any workload, running anywhere – on-prem, public cloud, OS or containers.

Our Vision as a Promise to Enhance Security

In Runecast’s heart lies the desire to bring unique value to customers through innovation.

We don’t want our customers to be stopped by the complexity and insecurity of the modern world.

Now, in 2022, we continue to strengthen our ITOM capabilities, and increase our innovation in the security area. We are uniquely positioned to offer a homogenous Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP).

Within a single software product, we already offer best-in-class CSPM and CWPP capabilities, as well as DevOps Security with our KSPM, container image scanning and CI/CD integration. Combining all of these capabilities in a single platform is a must-have to ensure integrated security and compliance across the mix of cloud-native and traditional workloads that every organization has these days.
