Innovation Hub Bangladesh in association with CORE Global has taken the initiative to develop the ecosystem of Innovation and Entrepreneurship amongst youth and organize the second season of Entrepreneurship & Innovation Conclave (EIC) 2019 at EMK Center brought to you by Turtle Venture and in collaboration with The Pages. This collaborative ideation, learning, and maker space will enable students and educators, joining with entrepreneurs, business leaders, local government officials, alumni, and educational partners, to co-create and realize the power of human innovation through cross-pollination of education, business and community talent immersed in the best of startup culture.

The Innovation Hub is needed to unleash and leverage the creativity of the 15-20% of people in educational institutions and other organizations who are innovators and early adopters – the “dreamers who do” – people who are wired to think and act more entrepreneurially, people who lead the way in the design and creation of new programs, products, services and methods, people who see the future and “go first” blazing new trails and preparing the way for others who will follow later.

Innovation is the introduction and creation of something new, in the form of an idea, skill, product, service or process, that helps improve an organization or society. The Annual Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IE) hopes to introduce a wider view of innovation as new methods of creating value and to focus on research that studies innovative processes, organizational practices, systems, supply chain design and other mechanisms that are related to operations in practice.

Why is innovative entrepreneurship important?
At a time when policymakers are pooling efforts to restore growth and overcome the global economic and financial crisis, specific attention has been focused on innovative entrepreneurship, as it can play an important role in contributing to economic growth, job creation and poverty reduction, and can help address key social challenges.
What types of businesses are innovative entrepreneurs?
The definition of innovative entrepreneurship used here is not synonymous with either small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or business start-ups but is derived from the intersection of three areas:
- Innovative businesses
- young and high-growth businesses
- SMEs
Who will participate? (startups)
Entries will be judged based on innovation, impact, scalability, and readiness (in the end).
Innovation: How original, groundbreaking or creative is the idea, app, website or service?
Impact: Will the idea, app, website or service impact numerous lives in meaningful ways?
Scalability: Does the idea, app, website or service scale technically? What percentage of the designated population will it reach? Is the content localized? Is multilingual support available?
Readiness: How soon will the idea, app, website or service be publicly available, beyond prototypes and limited trials, if it isn’t already? If it’s already publicly available, how stable and consistent is its performance?

Final Presentation and award giving ceremony: 13th July 2018
