EPE GENERAL HOSPITAL COMMEMORATES Y2022 WORLD CREATIVITY, INNOVATION DAY

… As MD Charges Management, Staff to Come up with Creative Ideas

The Medical Director, Epe General Hospital, Dr. Oluseyi Adesola, has charged management and staff of the hospital to come up with creative ideas that can be turned into action to improve the quality of services rendered to the public.

Dr. Adesola made the call during the commemoration of Y2022 Creativity and Innovation Day held at the hospital hall in Epe, noting that the day is celebrated every 21st of April to raise awareness about the important roles that innovation and creativity play in every aspect of human development.

He explained that the main idea behind celebrating the day is to encourage people to come up with multi-disciplinary thinking capacity, both at the individual and group levels.
Reiterating that the quality of services rendered to the people of Epe needs to be improved, the Medical Director added that the management will continue to tap into the enormous resources available within Epe and its environs to enhance service delivery by the facility.

In his words: “It is important to note that as the population keeps increasing there is a need for a new range of services to be rendered in the best possible way, especially in the face of dwindling resources both at the Federal and State levels, as a result of increasing demand for quality services by the citizens”.

“Creativity and Innovation are needed most in the health sector because we are dealing with human lives. If for any reason we get it wrong, patients will die. So for this reason we are willing to partner with people who can come up with ideas within this facility that can be turned into action and implemented to improve the services we render”, he enthused.

Speaking further, Dr. Adesola encouraged the Corporate Social Network Committee that was inaugurated at the event to be proactive, diligent and transparent in discharging its duties for greater achievement.

A Director from the Office of Transformation Creativity and Innovation (OTCI) and Guest Speaker at the event, Mrs. Toyin Ademuyiwa-Anjous, expressed satisfaction with the enabling environment created by the Medical Director, which has allowed some of the staff to come up with good ideas for better service delivery and solutions to some problems.

Mrs. Ademuyiwa-Anjous noted that the Lagos State Government has been proactive with the introduction of new and creative approaches for quality public services and better response to the needs of society.

She revealed that 252 ideas have been generated from the creative and innovative committees established in 102 agencies by OTIC, including hospitals, school districts, LGA and LCDAs across the State, urging the community to keep giving its full support to the hospital to enable it to carry out its plans.

The Honourable Member of the House of Representatives, representing  Epe Federal Constituency, Mr. Wale Raji, represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Mr. Bashiru Hassan, averred that the only way a society can be better is when everyone plays their part so that, collectively, a lot can be achieved.

He assured the hospital of his continued support in all areas and encouraged them to keep improving the quality of services rendered to residents of the community.

The high point of the event was the presentation of awards to Mr. Ayanbisi Rafiu of the Medical Social Services Department and Mr. Olugbenga Adepitan, an Admin Officer, for their innovations which the hospital has decided to implement.

The programme, which also witnessed the inauguration of a Corporate Social Network Committee, was concluded with the laying of the foundations for a Mini-mart and Fund Raising Centre at the facility.
