Friday Finds: The Best of Learning, Design & Technology | February 15, 2019
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain
The Learning Technologies Conference in London was fantastic. As always, getting to finally meet so many amazing people in person was by far the highlight. Jane Hart, Michelle Ockers, Don Taylor, Euan Semple, Ben Betts, Craig Taylor, Paul Jocelyn, Ger Driessen, Dani Johnson, Mirjam Neelen, Sunder Ramachandran, Trish Uhl, Emma Weber, Alfred Remmits, Matt Donovan, Amanda Nolen, Lori Niles-Hoffman and so many others that the list could run on for days.
You can check out the slides and resources from my curation session here. And the recordings of all the LT19UK sessions will be available soon.
And then came the “isn’t always pretty” part of travel when I found out at the airport on the way home that my passport had been stolen. Obviously not a fun day making my way to the US Embassy for a new passport, buying an expensive new ticket for the next day and the stress of trying to figure it all out. Fortunately, it was a warm, sunny, beautiful day to make the rounds of greater London and everything got sorted out. My incredible wife took care of the new flights and the amazing Jo Cook (@lightbulbjo) took me in for the night and gave me a much-needed hug at the end of a long, crazy day.
So on to this week’s slightly delayed edition. Cheers!
