FUTURE FOOD | Italian Future Food Experience – The Italian Food Innovation meets foreign investors
On the 9th of May 2019, the Future Food Institute will host a delegation of 13 Thai economic operators specialized in food innovation. FFI has carefully selected Milan as the first stop of this Italian Future Food Experience. This stop will focus on the two major events of Milano Food City and Leonardo500 which will offer an incredible glimpse into Italian food, culture and art. These events have been generously sponsored by the Municipality of Milan and realised in collaboration with SoLunch and Accademia del Panino Italiano.
Leonardo500 is inspired by and dedicated to Leonardo Da Vinci on the 500th anniversary of his death.
The Italian Future Food Experience will take place from the 9th to the 15th of May 2019 and will span 4 different Italian cities (Milan, Brescia, Catania, Rome). Its main goal will be to showcase how Italy applies innovation to food through its unique creativity, mastery and cultural identity.
The delegation will be composed of representatives from three major organizations from Bangkok and one of the Future Food Institute respected partners: Food Innopolis, Thailand Management Association (TMA) and Science and Technology Park.
May 9th marks the first stop of this journey to discover Italian food innovation.
At 10.00, the delegation will find themselves at the OpenKitchen Milan Signature, Via Goldoni 39, for a social eating event realized in collaboration with SoLunch. Here they will meet around 15 innovative startups, mainly of the G2 ecosystem accelerator, who will prepare a tasting of sustainable dishes to raise funds for the FIDU (Italian Federation of Human Rights), the environment and the Innovation Commission. Business, but also charity and contamination, in the mood of this Experience.
At 12.00, the delegation will move to the Accademia del Panino Italiano located in Via Leoni 2. The delegation will be welcomed by Fabio Rolfi (Councilor for Agriculture, Food and Green Systems of the Lombardy Region), Renato Galliano (Director for Urban Economy and Work of the Municipality of Milan), Sara Roversi (Founder of the Future Food Institute) and their host Antonio Civita (President of the Accademia Panino Italiano Foundation).
The delegation will be guided through the Renaissance cuisine of Leonardo da Vinci. Here they will discover the culinary innovations of the period and the history of Milan through labs, cooking shows, lessons, and courses. They will experience a bakery Lab curated by Davide Longoni, co-create the Panino di Leonardo with chef Claudio Sadler and take part in a coffee tasting by Lavazza Coffee Training. During this time, historian Andrea Beneggi will also present about Italy and Renaissance Milan.
Finally, at 2.30 pm, the delegation will meet companies, startups, universities, research centres, trade associations and institutions. These operators will include the National Research Council (CNR), the Council for Research in Agriculture and the Analysis of the Agricultural Economics (CREA), the National Association of Young Innovators (ANGI), the University of Pollenzo, the Politecnico di Milano and StartupItalia!
