Here are the finalists of the fifth AppsAfrica.com Innovation Awards

Technology news portal and advisory service AppsAfrica has released the shortlist for the finalists of the fifth edition of the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards.

The awards aim to celebrate the best in mobile and tech from across Africa, with winners set to be announced at an event to be held in Cape Town on 11 November.

AppsAfrica said in a statement yesterday that this year’s awards attracted over 400 submissions from 52 countries across 14 categories.

An independent panel of industry experts, media, investors and leaders from the tech ecosystem assessed the entries and whittled them down to 70 finalists.

The awards, which are supported by Tencent and Mobile Monday South Africa (MOMO), provide winners with industry recognition, global publicity and networking with more than 300 industry peers at the awards party which takes place on the eve of AfricaCom.

Category winners will also be invited to Africa Tech Summit Kigali 2020 to join more than 600 tech leaders from across the continent.
