Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was named the winner of ‘Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhon Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2022’ for the ‘Innovation Excellence’ category. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha presided over the award ceremony along with Mr. Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, and Mr. Nithi Patarachoke, President of the Thailand Management Association (TMA). The awards ceremony was held at The Athenee Hotel, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in the heart of Bangkok. This prestigious award reflects Huawei’s commitment to drive Thailand to become the future digital hub of ASEAN, reinforcing Huawei’s mission to ‘Grow in Thailand, Contribute to Thailand’ through technological innovations and digital talent development while elevating and nurturing the ICT ecosystem in Thailand.
Prime Minister Prayut congratulated the winners for receiving the award: “Over the past years, the Government has focused on empowering the private sector and continues to support large and small businesses to compete on an international scale. We are now facing new challenges, including labor shortages and social inequality. On behalf of the Government, I would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations for the success of each organization. This award is a symbol that reaffirms the commitment and determination of each organization that strives towards excellence. We will move forward together to make a positive impact on people’s lives, which includes building the country’s economic competitiveness, and we will leave no-one behind.”
“The Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2022 is the prestigious royal award granted to companies who have outperformed in technology and digital innovation. For the ‘Innovation Excellence’ category, there are several factors to consider when selecting the winning organization. The organization must contribute to outstanding digital developments in the country, such as providing public access to technology, driving rapid gain of internet penetration, supporting digital start-up development projects, and fostering digital and IT talents by fuelling education opportunities,” said Nithi Patarachoke, President of the Thailand Management Association (TMA).

In 2022, Huawei Thailand implemented several Digital Talent Development programs, including the ‘Digital Bus’ project that helped upskill the Thai digital workforce, as well as the ‘Seeds for the Future’ program and the ‘ICT Competition’ program, which provided scholarships for students in top universities and gave them access to innovative technologies. Huawei also launched ‘Huawei ASEAN Academy’, a dedicated digital training module set to empower digital talent, which also provides development guidelines for courses, hands-on training, and accreditation for universities, as well as apply Use-Cases from China as strategic training guidelines for public and private organizations.
