The first India-ASEAN Startup Summit (IASS) 2023, which is collaboration between Malaysia and India, is all set to bring together over 600 startups at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre from December 12 to 13. Hosted by DEWI Wealth Accelerator, the summit is a fantastic opportunity for startups to showcase their great ideas. They are all about new ideas, working together and supporting women entrepreneurs. Investors from all over are joining in along with 100 startup supporters such as Startup India, Invest India, MDEC and MDV. Datin Malliga Subramaniam, the brain behind DEWI Wealth Accelerator, is thrilled about what this means for Malaysian startups. “At IASS 2023, we want Malaysian startups to learn from India’s digital tech scene. India has a big market, and this summit is like inviting Malaysians to be part of it. It is about working together, growing and creating cool ideas. We are making a stage where everyone can help each other succeed.” “We are not just talking, but we are creating a space for women entrepreneurs. We understand they have unique challenges and we are here to face them directly,” explained Datin Malliga. India’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, H.E. BN Reddy, thinks this summit is a big deal for both countries. He stated, “India and Malaysia trade a lot, and this summit is like the glue that brings our startups closer. Indian startups are already making it big in Malaysia and Malaysia can learn a lot from India. It is a win-win!” YB Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports, said IASS 2023 is a boost for startups in India and Malaysia. He added, “By teaming up, we are giving entrepreneurs a bigger stage to succeed. It is a launch pad for Malaysian startups to reach the whole ASEAN region and beyond.”
