Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys has announced the launch of the second edition of the Aarohan Social Innovation Awards.

Following the successful response to the awards in 2018, Infosys Foundation has renewed its commitment towards accelerating innovation in the social sector.

The Aarohan Social Innovation Awards 2019 seeks to recognize and reward individuals, teams or NGOs developing unique solutions that have the potential to positively impact the underprivileged in India, at scale.

The awards will accept submissions across six categories:

Aarohan Social Innovation Awards will also offer winners an opportunity for residential technical mentorship at the IIT Hyderabad campus for up to 12 weeks to help them further develop and scale their solutions.

Eligibility

This contest is open only to legal residents of India.

Employees and directors of Infosys Limited and Infosys Foundation (“Sponsor”), the Company hosting the Contest Platform (“Administrator”) and each of their respective parent entities, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, owners, officers, directors, partners, agents, representatives, employees and contractors, advertising, promotion agencies, web masters and web suppliers (collectively “Released Parties”) and their respective dependents, immediate family members (parent, child, sibling and spouse) and individuals residing in their same household, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Immediate family members of any of the judges are also not eligible to enter or win a prize.

How to submit

A Video (90 – 120 seconds) and a supporting word document describing your project needs to be uploaded. You will also have to add a title and short description for your prototype. (to be filled while uploading the video and word document) The accompanying document has to be in doc, docx or pdf format with a maximum file size of 30 MB.

Please note: The project must be a fully functioning prototype, and not just a concept, idea or mock up. However, the project cannot be for sale commercially. In addition, all entries must meet the Entry requirements/conditions.

Criteria for evaluation

A qualified panel of judges will judge all eligible entries based on the judging criteria specified above, and the highest scoring entries will undergo a product audit. Top 30 entries qualifying the product audit will then advance to the Final Round. The Finalists (Entrant Team Representative, NGO) will be notified via email.

Rewards of up to INR 50 lakh will be given to the top three entries. Please be aware that the Team Representative will be responsible for both (1) all taxes, if any, owed on the prize amount and (2) distributing the winnings to other team members in whatever manner has been agreed by those team members.
