INNOTECH 2020 Broadcast – Expect Acceleration and Innovation – iHLS
“COVID-19 has created an accelerated digital transformation” – this was one of the insights from the panel discussions.
The filming of the special international broadcast of the INNOTECH Conference yesterday at Ynet Studios provided the unique setting for the gathering of the ecosystem’s leading figures during the panel discussions, and – not least important – also behind the scenes.
The special broadcast that will be on air on December 8-9 has gathered the best cyber, HLS, and innovation experts for presentations and panel discussions about the most important topics on the agenda, with the excellent moderation of Ya’akov Eilon.
A glimpse into Israeli innovation was provided by Brig. Gen. (res.) Dr. Daniel Gold, Head, MAF’AT, Israel Ministry of Defense. In an exceptional and special interview on the occasion of the conference and a detailed presentation, he referred to the major topics on Israel’s agenda, showcasing the unique advantages of INNOFENSE program, the innovation center of iHLS and MAF’AT, IMoD.
In another intriguing interview, Yigal Unna, Director General, Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD) elaborated on the Israeli cyber industry’s response to the COVID-19 challenge.
Guy Mizrahi, Cyber session chairperson, Chief Cyber Officer, RayZone Group, shared during the discussion panels his evaluation regarding the current cyber challenges. Many threats to critical infrastructures were mentioned during the discussions, targeting water and electricity installations as well as financial organizations. However, as Gil Polak, Cyber Security Manager, Bank of Israel said, “if everything is hopeless, how come we are still here? How come no terrible damage has been inflicted?”
Brig. Gen. (res.) Sharon Nir, HLS session chairperson, referred to the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis on smart cities and the implementation of HLS technologies. Nir said: “The COVID-19 era has actually created an acceleration of digital transformation in the health systems. In a time when the information systems and applications include more and more relevant information, it is possible to forecast medical trends regarding both the public and the patient. The presumption is that with more and more information – more security tools are needed, and this is what we will have to take into account.”
Ran Natanzon, the innovation session chairperson, referred to the Israeli innovation within the international context, focusing on innovation in the IDF and in the space domain.
Avi Yariv, INNOTECH Chairperson, an HLS, intelligence and cyber expert and one of iHLS founders, opened and concluded the day. He said: “It is undoubtedly an exceptional gathering of the leading experts, providing much public interest and exposing new insights regarding HLS, cyber and innovation.”
