Innovation Cluster Launches Groundbreaking Women Breaking Barriers Accelerator Program

Data reveal that just 6% of tech business have a female CEO, and only 8% of Directors on boards of Canadian tech companies are females. Only 4% of VC funding goes towards women-led companies and creators who are ladies of colour get less than 1% of venture capital each year. The Innovation Cluster is working to alter their numbers through a groundbreaking new accelerator program.

They have officially launched , a six-month mate acceleration program developed specifically for ladies in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and social development.

The program will enable individuals to fast lane their business and will lower barriers for female creators consisting of the distinct opportunity to pitch to angel financiers at the end of six months. This program has been enabled by a $75,000 Seed grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Funds will be utilized to hire experts, purchase materials, as well as to operate workshops and occasions.
