Innovation in Action speaker will discuss life sciences opportunities, education in Massachusetts
Clark University’s Innovation in Action Speaker Series will welcome Kenneth Turner, president and CEO of Mass Life Sciences, on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at noon in the Grace Conference Room on the first floor of the Higgins University Center. Turner will discuss the prevalence of life sciences education, careers, and opportunities in Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center is an economic development and investment agency dedicated to supporting the growth and development of the life sciences in Massachusetts. As president and CEO, Turner directs and oversees the center’s operations, investment strategy, programs, and partnerships.
The Innovation in Action Speaker Series brings prominent business and industry leaders to campus to talk to students, faculty, and staff about innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship. The series is sponsored by the President’s Office in partnership with the Office of the Provost, School of Management, School of Professional Studies, and the Small Business Development Center at Clark University.
“Clark University’s Innovation in Action Speaker Series underscores our commitment to learning and cultivating real-world innovation toward incubation and entrepreneurship for students, faculty, staff, and the entire Clark community,” says Alan Ritacco, associate vice president for external relations at Clark. “This speaker series provides Clarkies with a unique platform to engage with accomplished leaders, where ideas converge, inspiration flourishes, and intellectual exploration takes flight.”
Prior to joining MLSC, Kenn Turner served as director of the Diversity & Inclusion/Compliance Office at the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport). Before joining that agency, he was the deputy secretary for administration and finance for the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services. He has more than 20 years of general management and executive experience in various Fortune 100 media and package goods companies, including AOL Time Warner, Hallmark Cards, and Hasbro Toys.
Turner is a retired U.S. Navy captain and submarine nuclear weapons system officer with 26 years of service.
